The Joy of the Holidays

Hanging out at GGP's house
We ventured to Fort Worth for Thanksgiving this year to join the Corders and Mansons for lots and lots of food.  Luckily, Kate is very talented with a camera and took the pictures shown here!  We headed out to the park for some time in the fall leaves and Emerson thoroughly enjoyed climbing, running, and playing.

Getting sleepy

Emerson and I made holiday cookies yesterday for Steve to take to work.  Emerson loved the green icing and ended up looking a bit like the Hulk.

We're backing up to Halloween now. Emerson dressed as Plex from Yo Gabba Gabba!  The outfit was completely his choice.  We headed out to Trunk or Treat for candy and games then back home to peruse the treats received.

Swimming and School

Swimming

Our happy little fish
This summer we decided to get in the pool!  Emerson took swimming lessons - he hated them at first, but then, as you can tell, he LOVED the pool.  He is still talking about his lessons and his teacher and is ready for next summer.

This fall marked the beginning of Thursday school for Emerson.  We had been talking about it all summer, so when school rolled around on September 1, he was all smiles and ready for class.  I was worried that he would be upset when I left - I couldn't have been more wrong.  We went in and he took off for his classroom, handing me his backpack and lunchbox on the way.  When I got to the room, he was sizing up the puzzles on the table.  After putting everything away, I turned to say bye to Emerson, expecting tears.  He just turned to me and said, "OK, Mummy.  Bye-bye" and went back to his puzzle.  I think the whole experience was more traumatic for me than for him!
