Emerson and Thomas

Emerson's year was made when we went to visit Thomas the Tank Engine at the Vintage Railroad in Grapevine.  He got to ride on Clarabel (one of Thomas' coaches), meet Thomas and Sir Topham Hatt, get a few tattoos, eat some funnel cake, and play with more trains than I have ever seen in one place.  His face the first time he saw Thomas pulling into the station was one of absolute joy and awe.  The tattoos are fading now, but the memory is still strong!

Easter

Hunting for eggs

The Easter Bunny visited our house!

Too cute

Finding those eggs

The final sweep for eggs

Reading a new book
Easter was celebrated with much anticipation and excitement.  Emerson got to have three Easter Egg hunts this year - one at school, one at his grandparents' church, and one at home.  The Easter Bunny was very good to Emerson this year!

Pre-haircut

Post- haircut

Emerson also had his first haircut in April, right before Easter.  We lost the curls, but he loves his big boy haircut!

Sunday Evenings

video
It is Sunday evening and we are prepping ourselves for Spring Break.  A week of no work and few commitments for Mummy and playtime galore for Emerson.  How do we get ourselves psyched up for this relaxed week of gardening, baking, playing, and napping?  By drawing, dancing, and singing, of course!

Enjoy your week!

The Joy of the Holidays

Hanging out at GGP's house
We ventured to Fort Worth for Thanksgiving this year to join the Corders and Mansons for lots and lots of food.  Luckily, Kate is very talented with a camera and took the pictures shown here!  We headed out to the park for some time in the fall leaves and Emerson thoroughly enjoyed climbing, running, and playing.

Getting sleepy

Emerson and I made holiday cookies yesterday for Steve to take to work.  Emerson loved the green icing and ended up looking a bit like the Hulk.

The aftermath of cookie baking

We're backing up to Halloween now. Emerson dressed as Plex from Yo Gabba Gabba!  The outfit was completely his choice.  We headed out to Trunk or Treat for candy and games then back home to peruse the treats received.
